VALEDICTORY FUNCTION AT AIR FORCE STATION TAMBARAM

357 Air Warriors were inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF) at a Valedictory function yesterday at Air Force Station, Tambaram. The air warriors underwent rigorous and intensive training at Workshop Training Institute before passing out. Apart from this, seven Defence personnel from armed forces of friendly foreign countries al so completed the training successfully.Air Commodore MS Awana, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), Vishisht Se va Medal (VSM), Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Tambaram was the Chief Guest of the function. He was received by Group Captain M Murugan, Commanding Officer Workshop Training Institute. Meritorious trai nees were awarded trophies at the function. The passing out trainees were administered Oath / Affirmation on this auspicious day of their joining the Air Force fraternity.

Addressing the newly inducted ‘Air Warriors’, the Chief Guest complemented them on their immaculate turn-out. He further added that Air Warriors must strive for professional excellence. He also brought out that with the induction of the state-of-the art aircraft, equipment and weapon system, the IAF is witnessing major cha n ges in operational philosophy. The IAF today is on the path of transforming itself into a strategic force of great calibre. He urged the air warriors to make sustained efforts towards continuous enhancement of their technical knowledge and skills by keeping themselves abreast with the latest changes. He also advised the trainees to ma intain exemplary conduct at all times, in keeping with the ethos of the service.
