Chennai, November 14th, 2019 – Titan, India’s largest and most trusted watch brand, today launched a special edition of watches –The Namma Tamil Nadu Collection. The beautifully crafted collection reiterates fabulous tales from Tamil Nadu’s rich cultural heritage. The collection was unveiled by Ms. Revathi Kant – Chief Design Officer, Titan Company Limited and acclaimed dancer and actor Shobana Chandrakumar Pillia at Taj Connemara, Chennai followed by a captivating Bharata Natyam performance by the graceful Shobana.
These crafted timepieces bring to life the rich canvas of culture, art and language of Tamil Nadu; be it the magnificent temple architecture, the delicate craftsmanship of Kanjiwaram silk sarees or the unique Tamil script. Drawing inspiration from elements like the Annapakshi motif of Kanjiwaram silks, the Lotus patterns on temple ceilings, the offset pillars with Yali sculptures and the timeless Tamil script printed as numbers adorn, these watches are a fine blend of elegance and aesthetics in a contemporary way.

Revathi Kant is the Chief Design Officer at Titan Company Ltd.
She has been with Titan for the last 28 years. She started her career as a market researcher then moved on to head marketing for West Asia and African region for 10 years. After successfully leading the Titan Design Studio for 5 years, she has been spearheading the challenge of creating the most beautiful and differentiated products for Titan Company Limited. Revathi spends a great deal of time on consumer research, trying to get a feel of the customers’ pulse and to understand fashion trends and derive key insights. Integrating Design in business is her key area of focus.Her special areas of interest are people and their behaviour, metaphysics, spirituality and alternate healing. This has helped her to look at things in a holistic manner and to apply it to her everyday professional life — giving her direction to come up with solutions to various problems.
