STUDENTS OF NAGALAND ON NATIONAL INTEGRATION TOUR TO OTA, CHENNAI

NATIONAL INTEGRATION TOUR TO OTA, CHENNAI

            As part of National Integration Tour 20 girl students and two lady teachers from remote schools of the Nag aland state alongwith an officer from 40 ASSAM RIFLES visited Chennai from 04 to 07 Jan 20. The visit was con ducted with an aim to enhance the knowledge and social integration of children with main stream of the Nation. During the visit, students ranging from 15 to 22 years of age, got an opportunity to witness the geographical, cultural and urban landscape of Chennai. A visit to Raj Bhawan was conducted on 06 Jan 20, where they had an opportunity to interact with Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Governor, Tamilnadu.

While on tour the girls students stayed at the Officers Training Academy, Chennai. Students were elated to experience the training environment and infrastructure in the Academy and expressed their keen interest to join Armed Forces after interaction with Lt Gen Sanjeev Kanal, AVSM, Commandant of the Academy. The students expressed that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity for them and they would spread the good words about the new and rich experiences with their friends, relatives and school meter. They were very thankful to the Indian Army for providing them with this kind of exposure.
