Chennai: To say all roads lead to Tiruvanmiyur will be no exaggeration as the attention of Tamilnadu is now on the general council and executive committee meetings of the ruling AIADMK, which are slated to be held Thursday at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute grounds at Dr Vasudevan Nagar.
With just months left for the Assembly elections, the meetings have assumed significance, as crucial strategies, including the one on possible alliance, are expected to be spelled out. Also, many politically important resolutions are set to be passed.
AIADMK workers have been painting the town red ( black, white and red, to be precise) ahead of the event. Party flags, banners and festoons adorn both sides of the road from Poes Garden, the residence of party general secretary and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, to the venue at Tiruvanmiyur.
Roads leading to the venue, including Kamarajar Salai, LB Road and a portion of East Coast Road, have been spruced up. The Highways Department has finished patch work on ECR and was painting the median.
