Chennai, May 23rd, 2025:HCL Group, a l eading global conglomerate, in partners hip with the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI), Successfully concluded t he second edition of the HCL Squash Do oubles National Championship at the In ndian Squash Academy, Chennai.The tou ournament was held from May 20 to Ma ay 23, 2025. This Championship was als so a national selection event for the 2nd Asian Doubles Championships in Malay sia at the end of June.
Following the strong momentum built in the 2024 inaugural edition, the champio nship has quickly become a regular feat ure on India’s squash calendar. It aims to promote the doubles format and encour age wider participation in the sport acro ss the country. The four-day tournamen nt brought together India’s top squash p layers including Joshna Chinappa, Anah at Singh, Abhay Singh, and Velavan Sent hilkumar.
Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar won in the men’s doubles with a score of 11-5, 11-4. Anahat Singh and Joshna Chi nappa won in the women’s doubles with a score of 11-4, 11-9. Abhay Singh and A nahat Singh in the mixed doubles catego ry with a score of 11-9, 5-11, 11-9. The winners were felicitated by the Chief G uest, Padma Shri Mr. V. Baskaran, a lege ndary field hockey player and former In dian coach. Also present were Rajat Cha ndolia, Associate Vice President & Head – Brand, HCL, and Cyrus Poncha, Secreta ry General, SRFI. All winners were awar ded their trophies and a share of the tot al prize purse of ₹3.3 lakh during the clo sing ceremony.

The Championships 2025 concluded on a high note, setting the stage for a stron g showing by Indian players on the conti nental stage later this year.
