Chennai, June 16th, 2025: In a strong sh ow of support for the Tamil Nadu Gover nment’s visionary ‘Namakku Naame’ sch eme, DRA – Pride of Chennai’s real estate, has laid the foundation for a ₹1 crore be autification project to revamp Sir V.P. R aman Road, popularly known as Lloyds Road. In collaboration with GCC, the init iative brings a renewed focus on creatin g vibrant, walkable, and sustainable urb an spaces in the heart of the city.

Undertaken through a Public-Private p artnership, the project aims to transfor rm this key arterial stretch into a clean er, greener, and more people-centric corridor. Over the next four months, Lloyds Road will undergo a comprehensive makeover-including pedestrian-friendly walkways, comfortable public seating, lush landscaping, energy-efficient LED lighting, and smart urban signage—blending functionality with modern aesthetics. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Thiru V. Kamala Chezhiyan, Municipal Councillor, Ward 119, alongside senior leadership from DRA.
