Corona Warriors : Hospitality Heroes showing exemplary support to fight COVID-19

 The Novel Coronavirus has brought to the forefront stories of many ordinary people who are volunteering for good in these extraordinary times. In such times, Binendra Maheshwari hotel owner of OYO 6869 ECR Grand Re sidency is a true embodiment of a selfless person who has been extensively involved in the fight against this pandemic.

With hotels being closed for guest bookings as part of the mandatory nationwide lockdown in India, Binendra id entified an opportunity to use his time for the greater good. Procuring essentials had become a difficult task for people whose livelihoods were affected during the lockdown. This motivated Binendra to help the under privile ged who were in dire need of food. He converted this problem into an opportunity by using his hotel’s kitchens to provide food to 300-400 people. Further, under the guidance of OYO Hotels & Homes, he also allowed his ho tels to be used as quarantine centres for Doctors, Policemen and other frontline COVID warriors.

Binendra says, “At a time when the whole world is on standstill and the COVID positive cases are doubling at an alarm ing rate all I could think of was a way to help in these crucial times. I got in touch with OYO to understand if I could offer my hotels as quarantine centres. The team was proactive in helping my hotel with a complete sanitization including tra ining my staff to follow minimal touch policy.

 He further adds, “I am thankful to the central team who also kept me up to date with all the COVID related advisories. With OYO’s support, I am currently accommodating doctors, policemen and frontline warriors. As per the guidelines set by the MHA we have been following a strict protocol while hosting people at our hotels. The team has also helped me in keeping ready stock of masks, sanitizers and gloves. I am blessed to have the opportunity of contributing in any possible way that may help in lessening the impact caused by this pandemic.”
