 Story-;

Set against the backdrop of a village near Kodaikanal, Vettai Naai revolves around Sekar (RK Suresh), a small-time rowdy, who seeks redemption post his marriage. How other rowdies and their leader (Ramki) who were waiting to pounce on him, utilises the situation which affects him and his wife (Subiksha) forms the rest of the story. This done-to-death plot, which has some not-so-bad scenes, falters in execution as they appear staged despite the artistes trying their best.

Movie Review-;

RK Suresh is a small-time rowdy who seeks redemption post his marriage with Subiksha. However, other rowd ies and their leader Ramki who were waiting to take their revenge on him try to utilise the situation.Did the prot agonist manage to tackle his enemies and was able to lead a normal life forms the rest of the story. The plot is not something new, however director Jai Shankar has tried to deliver it with more conviction. R K Suresh is tailor made for the role. He shines in the action sequences, but struggles in the romantic and sentiment portions.Set against the backdrop of a village near Kodaikanal, Vettai Naai revolves around Sekar (RK Suresh), a small-time rowdy, who seeks redemption post his marriage. How other rowdies and their leader (Ramki) who were waiting to pounce on him, utilises the situation which affects him and his wife (Subiksha) forms the rest of the story.

This done-to-death plot, which has some not-so-bad scenes, falters in execution as they appear staged despite the artistes trying their best.Namo Narayanan and Ramki are apt in the roles of a drunkard and rowdy respectiv ely, while Subiksha appears comfortable as the naïve wife, who is forced to get married to a thug. The role of a goon was tailor-made for RK Suresh, but his performance lacked conviction in the latter half after the character undergoes transformation. The inclusion of a few characters and a flashback to create conflicts turns futile, mak ing viewers lose interest in the proceedings. The technical aspects, too, are strictly okayish.Ramki and Namo Narayanan as the rowdy and drunkard suit their roles respectively. Ramki had given some terrific performances in the past, but he could have done a little better.Subiksha shines in her role and the movie revolves around her.

The lack of proper characteris atio n of the lead actors has marred the flow of the movie.Unlike other action movies which are mostly based in Madurai or Chennai, the movie happens at Kodaikanal. Cinematographer Munish Easwaran has captured the residential areas of Kodaikanal instead of just focusing on the scenic views. Stunt choreographer Dhilip Subburayan and Dinesh Subburayan need a special mention for their stunt sequ ences choreography. Ganesh Chandrasekaran’s music is average and editing by Vijay Krishna adds some pace.
