AIR FORCE STATION TAMBARAM TO HOST THE SEVENTH
ARMED FORCES VETERANS DAY
Minister of State for Defence Shri Ajay Bhatt is expected to be the Chief Guest for Seventh Armed Forces Veter ans Day to be held at Air Force Station, Tambaram. The Tri-service annual event is cel ebrated to recognise the contribution of veterans who served the nation. On this very day, on 14 Jan 1953, the First Indian Commander in Chief (C-in-C) Indian Army-Field Marshal KM Cariappa, the one who had led Indian Forces to Victory in the 194 7 war, had formally retired from Services. The Day is celebrated as Armed Forces Veterans Day and dedicated to our esteemed Veterans.
The First Armed Forces Veterans Day was celebrated in 2016 wherein, it was decided to commemor ate this ver y day every year, by hosting such interactive events in the honour of our Armed Forces Ve terans and their famili es. Seventh Armed Forces Veterans Day will be celebrated on 14th January 20 23 at Air Force Station, Tambara m. Events are being organized across the country by Three Service Headquarters at various cities apart from one main event presided over by Hon’ble Defence Minist er of India. Veterans may reach to the respective Sainik Boards for participation.
