About Chennai…?
Chennai has always been special to me. My life started here. I have many unfor gettable experiences in Chennai.
What inspired me to act in the film?
After hearing the story of this film, despi te all the commercial aspects, it is basica lly a love story. I liked it a lot. The fans w ho watch the film will also feel this love closely.
You look different in this film than the u sual Naga Chaitanya.. Regarding thi s..!?
When I met Director Sandhu, he explain ed the screenplay of my character in this film. After hearing it, I believed that it w as the right opportunity for the actor to showcase his talent. The story of the fil m is also a long journey from Sri Ka Kula m near Visakhapatnam, to Gujarat, from there to Pakistan, to a prison there, and then back to his native land. This fascina ted me a lot.
After that, I went to Sri Ka Kulam in per son and met the fishermen there and tal ked to them about their lifestyle – pronu nciation style – body shape – profession onal style – and learned about them.
What are the challenges they face when they go to sea? How do they face them? I asked them about all this in detail.Whe
n they go into the sea to catch fish, they stay in the sea for about a month. When they are in the sea, their cell phones do not work. They have no connection with this world. After hearing all this, I becam e inspired and started preparing myself for this character. This made a big differ ence in my film journey. Be it my appear ance… my body language… my local dial ect, my accent… I was immersed in this f or almost a year. This journey gave me an unforgettable experience.
The character Raju that I played in the film ‘Dhandel’ affected me in many way s. All the feelings related to the evolutio n of a human being arose while playing t his character. It also made me realize th at we should treat people with love.
How was the experience of working wit h the director?
This is the third film that I am acting in u nder the direction of director Sandhu M ondetti. Every film is in a different genr e. The story of this film. The budget of th is film. Its grandeur. The quality of produ ction.. everything is new for me and the director. It has never been in any film be fore. It is huge. This shows the growth of the director.
Sandhu thinks a lot for me. He has show n me in a new look in this film. Be it a lov e scene… a fight scene… a dance scene… Sandhu is always there for me. For this, I thank him at this moment.
What is your hobby apart from acting?
Apart from acting, I am involved in car r acing. For this, I thank Chennai again. I h ave watched car races held at the car ra cing ground in Irungattu Fort, Chennai. I have enjoyed it. It is just my hobby. I hav e not taken proper training for it. Howev er, I have driven racing cars when I get fr ee time.
