Enchanting Malaysia: Tourism Seminar & Eid Fest 2025 – A Resounding Success

Tourism Malaysia is delighted to announ ce the successful conclusion of the Ench anting Malaysia: Tourism Seminar & Eid Fest 2025, held on 29th April 2025 at th e Hyatt Regency Hotel, Chennai.

This exclusive event showcased Malaysi sia’s rich and diverse travel opportunitie es and fostered meaningful collaboratio ns with key stakeholders in the travel in dustry.

Event Highlights:

The seminar brought together Malaysia n product owners and prominent travel professionals from Southern India, crea ting a dynamic platform for networking and collaboration. Attendees explored e xciting travel opportunities and engage d in enriching discussions aimed at furth ther strengthening the ties between Ind ia and Malaysia.

Adding to the evening’s significance was the joyous celebration of Eid, a festival s ymbolizing unity, gratitude, and sharing g. Guests were treated to a festive atmo sphere that reflected the spirit of Malay sian hospitality, featuring traditional Eid delicacies, cultural performances, and a n opportunity to experience the warmth of Malaysia’s multi-ethnic traditions.

Flight Connectivity:

Southern India’s robust flight connectio ns were highlighted as a key driver of M alaysia’s tourism growth. Current conne ctivity includes:

• South India: 153 weekly flights

• Chennai (MAA): 40 weekly flights

AirAsia: 14 flights

Malaysia Airlines: 12 flights

Indigo: 14 flights (7 to Kuala Lumpur an d 7 to Penang)

Director’s Address:

Mr. Hishamuddin Mustafa, Director of T ourism Malaysia Chennai, emphasized t he strategic importance of the Indian m arket, stating:

“India has been a key market for Malays ia for over 20 years, and with the upcom ing Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY2026 26), we are targeting 1.6 million Indian t ravellers. Southern India, with its robust flight connections, is crucial to our grow th strategy. This product update provide s a valuable opportunity to highlight Ma laysia’s appeal as a top destination for M ICE, wedding tourism, and leisure travel, offering world-class infrastructure and beautiful destinations for all types of tra vellers.”

He also noted the significance of celebra ting Eid during the event, which beautif ully reflected Malaysia’s spirit of unity, i nclusivity, and hospitality. “The Eid Fest is a perfect example of how Malaysia’sm ulticultural heritage offers visitors not j ust a destination, but a warm and welco ming experience that resonates with di verse traditions and values.”

Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY2026): A Monumental Milestone

The event also served as a platform to a nnounce the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 ( VMY2026) campaign, which will celebra te the vibrant culture, diverse landscape s, and rich heritage of Malaysia while em phasizing sustainable tourism. Tamil Na du travelers will have the chance to disc over Malaysia’s treasures, from lush rain forests and pristine beaches to dynamic cities and colorful festivals.

As part of VMY2026, Tourism Malaysia will introduce several exciting initiatives and special travel packages tailored to T amil Nadu travelers, ensuring seamless and memorable experiences in Malaysia .
