Movie Review-:
Vetri, who has attracted attention with his story choices, has gone completely on the commercial route this time. The one who passes the stunt scenes strugg les to tick the other boxes. The father-s on affection and the romance track with the girlfriend are both a letdown in both the emotional areas! Prabhu, as the affe ctionate father, scores with Ganeer’s voi ce and action-packed fights. But Vetri’s emotional area is where he falters, and he overdoes it and makes it even more t ense. Krishna Priya, as the heroine, has given a good performance in the love sc enes. Thangadurai and Iman Annachi, w ho were added for comedy, struggle to make people laugh. Komal Kumar, the m ain villain, has more buildup scenes than the hero. It is unexpected that his perfor mance turns into a spoof in some places! Livingston, R.V. Udayakumar, and Manso or Ali Khan are the sub-villains. Among t hem, only Livingston’s character is writt en somewhat comfortingly. But even th at has been made up for by the visible m ustache. Cinematographer Oliver Deny has brought the earth to the screen with appropriate impact. Kamalakannan’s ed iting stands alongside Rakesh Rocky’s fi ght scenes. Art director Ayyappan’s wo rk is commendable with the villain’s ten t, the market setup, the bus of that perio d, and the houses. The song ‘Akasatha T hottachi’ in Naufal Raja’s music is comfo rting. Otherwise, the background music does not make much of an impact.
The d irector has planned to present the fathe r-son love story as a popular cine ma wit h four fights, two songs, and love scenes. However, it is disappointing that most o f the scenes are boring templates and te sting genres! The villain gang tha t decei ves the villagers of Vellanthi, and the fin al twist that follows it are okay, b ut wha t is the logic behind no one think ing abo ut this simple fraud? Why did Pr abhu, w ho was close to the truth from t he begin ning, not notice it until the clim ax? It is a lso a mystery! Even though the story tak es place in the early 90s, the ch aracter c astings are not so innocent, sir! Even if y ou put aside the logic problems , the film moves as an uninteresting colle ction of catchy songs, outdated love sce nes, and absurd comedies. The excessive artificia lity in the love story and the lac k of anyt hing new in the writing are disa ppointin g, so this ‘Rajputhiran’ stumble s to beco me a complete screen experie nce.
