Iswarya Hospital Unveils Advanced Breast Centre to Campaign for Early Detection in Women

Chennai, 10th August 2025: In a significant step toward enhancing women’s preventive healthcare, Iswarya Hospital launched the Iswarya Breast Centre, a state-of-the-art facility exclusively focused on comprehensive breast health screening and diagnosis. The Iswarya Breast Centre is equipped with advanced 3D Digital Mammography with Tomosynthesis, a next-generation imaging technology that delivers sharper, more detailed breast scans for faster and more accurate detection of abnormalities.
The centre is dedicated to supporting all women, by offering routine breast check-ups, diagnostic consultations, and evaluations based on family history. Our objective is to normalize breast screening as an essential component of annual health maintenance.
The breast centre was launched by Chief Guest, Mrs. Chinmayi Sripada, celebrated singer and women’s rights advocate.

Speaking at the launch of the breast centre, Dr. S. Rajasundaram, Director of Oncology and CEO of Iswarya Hospital, said, “Breast cancer continues to be the most common cancer among Indian women, accounting for nearly 1 in 4 cancer cases.
Unfortunately, more than 50 percent of these cases are detected in late stages due to lack of awareness and delayed screening. Our goal is to shift the focus to early detection. Early detection of breast cancer dramatically increases survival rates.
Yet many women still delay or skip routine check-ups due to fear, stigma, or lack of access. This centre encourages women, especially those above 40, to undergo timely, accurate, and painless screening using cutting-edge 3D mammography. We want to ensure that no woman has to suffer due to late diagnosis, when a simple annual check-up could have made the difference,”.
