Movie Review-:
In 1991, the 100th film of revolutionary artist Vijayakanth in the lead role was Captain Prabhakaran, directed by R.K. Selvamani. Not only was it the 100th film, but it also became a huge super hit film with a good storyline, a film that won a place in the minds of the people, and the film that earned Vijayakanth the name Captain.
Captain Prabhakaran was released with action scenes with exciting unexpected twists and turns, focusing on activities such as sandalwood smuggling and elephant ivory smuggling, and it ran for more than 250 days. Not only this, Captain Prabhakaran is an evergreen action film that also hit the box office. Beyond being a good actor in the film, Captain is still living with us today as a treasure in making many people hungry and improving their lives in real life.
Mansoor Ali Khan will be playing the role of the villain. On the other hand, Prabhakaran plays the role of a forest guard police officer named IFS, and Captain Vijayakanth’s performance is also amazing.
Ilayaraja’s music in this film was also a super hit. The song ‘Pasamulla Pandiyaru, Pattu Kattum Pavalaru’ and the song ‘Aattama Therottama’ were hit songs everywhere.
Captain Prabhakaran is one of the best iconic films for revolutionary artist Vijayakanth. You can watch this anytime. This film, which was released in 1991, was converted to digital after 34 years and will be re-released in theaters on August 22, on the occasion of the Captain’s birthday on August 25. In this situation, director R.K. Selvamani told reporters, “This film was shot for more than 290 days.
Of that, more than 100 days were shot in the forest. There are no basic facilities there. There is not even a proper road to go to that forest. We ourselves went to the forest to carry the materials. All the actors worked hard there without any basic facilities to make this film a success somehow.” ” The train fight and the song ‘Aatma Therottama’ from the film Captain Prabhakaran are still talked about today. I wanted to shoot that fight scene on a grand scale. I wanted 25 horses. But the producer said he would give me 100 horses. There was no place to shoot such a grand fight scene. We didn’t get it.
Finally, we shot it in 4 days near Andipatti Kanavai. The song “Attama Therottama” was a separate story. At first, Ilayaraja gave me a different song. I didn’t like it. I told him the story. He got angry. But he recorded this song in one day and sent it to the shooting site. He narrated the story for me and had Swarnalatha sing it. Everyone liked it as soon as they heard it. Ilayaraja and Ramya Krishnan are the reason for the success of that song. “Captain Prabhakaran” was released on just 90 screens when it was released. But now it is being released on more than 500 screens,” he said. It can be said that this Captain Prabhakaran film is a king to the Pushpa film, which has a redwood smuggling storyline.
Fans also comment that this Captain Prabhakaran film is a thousand times more than the Pushpa film.
