R K International’s K. S. Ramakrishna to produce a comedy-fantasy that marks the Tamil directorial debut of Shaalin Zoya*

Working with the vision of identifying talented artistes and bankrolling quality films, R K International, under the leadership of K. S. Ramakrishna, recently produced ‘Kaliyugam’ starring Shraddha Srinath and Kishore, which garnered much appreciation. Now, the company is set to produce a new movie.
This film will be directed by popular Malayalam actress and filmmaker Shaalin Zoya, who is also known for her role in the Tamil film ‘Kannagi’ and for gaining fame through the show ‘Cook With Comali’. Her Malayalam directorial ‘The Family Act’ drew attention, and now, with R K International’s 18th production, she makes her directorial debut in Tamil.
Set in a village backdrop in the late 90s, the film is a comedy fantasy that stars Brigida opposite Nakkalite’ fame Arun. M.S. Bhaskar, Aruldoss, Ilavarasu, Jawa Sundaresan, Jenson Diwakar and Aniruth will play important roles. Devadarshini will be seen in an important unseen character, while Ashwin Kakumanu will be seen in an interesting guest role.
Speaking about the project, producer K. S. Ramakrishna said, “All the 17 films we produced so far have been made without compromising on quality and have encouraged talented artistes. This film directed by Shalin Zoya will also be part of the journey. The movie is being created in such a way that audiences of all age groups can enjoy it.”
Director Shaalin Zoya shared: “The story is set in the late 90s and early 2000s. An incident takes place in a village during that period, and how it changes the lives of the people there will be narrated with a blend of comedy and fantasy. I thank Ramakrishna sir for giving me this opportunity to direct. I am delighted to be working with talented artistes. We believe that Tamil audiences, who always appreciate quality works, will support our film as well.”
The film’s cinematography is by K. Ramcharan, editing by Suresh A Prasad, and art direction by D. Santhosh. Costumes are designed by V. Saibabu, makeup by P. Prasad, production management by V. Viswanathan, and public relations by Nikil Murukan.
