Story-:
Starring Munishkanth, *Khakee Circus*—releasing on ZEE5 starting April 10, 2026—is a unique Tamil web series blending elements of comedy and thriller. This 7-episode series humorously chronicles a cat-and-mouse game between a cunning thief and the police. Genre: Comedy, Thriller, Fantasy.
The story centers on a book-obsessed jailer and an eager constable as they struggle to apprehend a mysterious thief. Munishkanth’s comedic performance is expected to be the series’ primary strength.
The sequences in which the thief challenges the police promise to be thrilling and suspenseful.

*Khakee Circus* is anticipated to be an entertaining, family-friendly thriller series infused with plenty of humor. Munishkanth plays the role of a Deputy Jail Superintendent who firmly believes that the primary function of a prison is to rehabilitate criminals. Consequently, he has established a small library within the prison; he not only encourages inmates to read books—including those he has authored himself—but also seeks solutions to criminal cases within the very books he reads. Subash Selvam serves alongside him as a constable. Amidst this backdrop, money is stolen from the donation box of the temple located within the prison premises. Constable Subash Selvam finds himself under immense pressure to replace the stolen money before news of the prison heist leaks to the outside world.

Consequently, he decides to take out a bank loan to replenish the temple donation box. He secures the loan and brings the cash home for safekeeping; however, the donation-box thief strikes again, stealing the money from his residence as well.
Having lost even the money he borrowed, Subash Selvam eventually uncovers the thief’s identity—yet he finds himself trapped in a helpless predicament, unable to take any action against the culprit. ‘Kaakki Circus’ tells the story—through unexpected twists and humor—of how Subash Selvam sets out on a mission to somehow catch a thief red-handed and recover the money from him.

Web Series Review-:
Director Ameen Parekh drives the narrative forward with great momentum across all episodes—infusing them with just the right blend of humor and intrigue—centered around three key characters: Prison Superintendent Munishkanth, Constable Subash Selvam, and the thief Rajesh Madhavan. Notably, the prison temple’s offertory box is also crafted as a pivotal character in its own right, serving as the focal point for a fascinating storyline.
Munishkanth and Subash Selvam, who portray the series’ protagonists, have both delivered performances that do full justice to their respective roles.

Breaking away from his signature body language and comedic style, Munishkanth has chosen to express only what the character strictly demands; this approach not only lends significant strength to his role but also serves to distinguish him as a versatile actor.
Subash Selvam, playing the prison constable, fits the role to perfection; although his performance is rooted in comedy, he delivers a commanding presence through his impressive action sequences.

While the scenes involving the pursuit of the thief unfold with humor, Subash’s sheer energy and intensity transcend the comedic elements, effectively evoking the atmosphere of an action-thriller.
Rajesh Madhavan, cast as the thief, appears as a seemingly unassuming individual; however, the fact that he steals not for financial gain but for the sake of fame—and his subsequent escapes—significantly heightens the intrigue of the series.
Vinsu Sham and Gauthami, who play the female leads, have executed their roles flawlessly.

The entire supporting cast—including Savithri, Amrutha, Abdul Lee, Maruthupandian, Rakesh, Usar, Vigneshwar, and Arunkumar—proves to be an apt selection for their respective roles, collectively adding great strength to the series. The work of Cinematographer Neeraj Ravi, Composers Xavier and Vipin Bhaskar, and Editor Arjun Babu elevates the quality of the series, compelling viewers to journey along with the story.
Director Ameen Parib, who has crafted a screenplay featuring multiple sub-plots built around a simple core concept, ingeniously designs the temple offertory box itself as a distinct character; complete with its own backstory, he steers each episode forward in a highly engaging manner.
Posing the central question—”How can a theft occur inside a prison?”—the series explores the thief’s backstory and identity. The manner in which the narrative constructs a scenario allowing the thief to evade capture by the police—even after his identity is known—not only heightens the series’ intrigue but also leaves viewers eagerly watching subsequent episodes, constantly wondering: “When and how will the thief finally be caught?”

While Director Ameen Parib has designed Munishkanth’s character in a way that encourages the wholesome habit of reading, he simultaneously delivers a humorous lesson: books alone do not constitute life, and certain situations must be handled with pragmatism. In doing so, he succeeds in making the audience both laugh and reflect.
Although the narrative surrounding the Kannagi temple situated within the prison—and the theft from its offertory box—drives the first four episodes with humor, the story progresses at a brisk pace, filled with suspense and high-octane sequences.

Even once the identity of the thief and his motive for stealing from the prison temple’s offertory box are revealed, the lingering question—”How will they manage to catch him?”—propels the subsequent three episodes forward with unexpected twists and unique comedic moments, making for a thoroughly enjoyable viewing experience.
All in all, *Kaaki Circus* is a series brimming with both lively humor and thrilling excitement.
