Story -:
Adarsh Madhikanth, who consistently chooses unique horror stories, has once again fully immersed himself in his role. He naturally portrays a range of emotional states—from a man crushed by the burden of debt to someone ensnared by supernatural forces, and finally, a survivor grappling with confusion and anguish.
Jovita Livingston, playing the female lead, convincingly captures the emotions of a family woman. Her performance during moments of fear, anxiety, and confusion lends the necessary emotional weight to the story.
Aruvi Madhan and Sonia Agarwal, who drive key plot twists, make significant contributions that enhance the story’s impact, despite their limited screen time. The actress playing the protagonist’s sister also effectively fulfills the requirements of her role.
Amudhavanan, Rafiq Badsha, K. Bhagyaraj, and Livingston handle their respective roles skillfully, supporting the flow of the screenplay.
Technically, the film is a commendable effort. Cinematographer Sangeeth Manigopal captures dark scenes and horror sequences in a way that effectively builds tension. Vignesh Raja’s background score heightens the sense of dread during every mysterious moment.
G.J. Thiruchelvam’s precise editing, along with the VFX work by P.R. Creation Studios and the art direction, elevates the film’s overall quality.
Director K.S. Kishan has attempted to craft an engaging and suspenseful narrative centered around a single house. He demonstrates the ability to keep the audience on the edge of their seats in several scenes. Although the screenplay falters slightly in places, the film’s strength lies in its high-quality technical execution of horror elements. All in all, while ‘Dark Giant’ may not deliver an intense horror experience, it offers fans an engaging theatrical experience blending mystery and suspense. It is a film that horror movie enthusiasts can enjoy watching at least once.
