Story -:
Nayakan Ashraf, a photographer, travels to the Western Ghats to photograph a rare tree that has never been seen before. Then he gets lost in the dangerous forest. Ashraf struggles for his life by facing many dangerous situations and is unable to find his way out of the most dangerous forest where no one has gone back.
Every minute of traveling in the forest, Ashraf faces many mystery and horror situations, did he escape from there?, did he see the tree he wanted to photograph? ‘Photographer’ is a blend of horror and psychology.

Movie Review -:
Ashraf, who has written and directed the story and acted as the hero of the story, has tried to give the film a journey of mystery, horror, supernatural and psychological feelings, keeping an individual’s journey as the plot.
Ashraf, who carries the entire film as an actor through the character of Veera, has scored in his performance by expressing various emotions very elegantly in the first film itself. Although initially her character and her performance seem like an overdose, her performance gets complimented by the traveling screenplay and scenes in the second half.
Anani Swaminathan, who only appears in a few scenes, has played the role of the heroine.
Karunakaran, who plays the hero’s friend, has added strength to the film with his realistic performance. Uriyadi Siva who plays another friend is also good.
Aadukalam Naren’s experienced performance as the hero’s father adds strength to the film. Devi Mahesh, who plays the protagonist’s mother, impresses with her beauty and measured performance.
Cinematographer Raeesh Ahmed has tried to portray the peace and danger of the forest in such a way that the audience feels awe. But we can’t be scared because most of the forest scenes take place during the day and the scenes travel in non-dense forest areas. Attempts at intimidation through graphic displays have also failed miserably.
Rajkumar Chandrasekaran’s background music and unique sounds attract attention. In the second half where only the protagonist travels, the background music travels in a way that binds the attention of the audience.
Cinematographer RC Pranav, who has been a great support to the director who has tried to tell an interesting travel story full of danger, moves the entire first half very slowly which leaves the audience tired. However, the second half narrates the story at a fast pace and makes the audience connect with the film with some unexpected twists.
Director Ashraf, based on the journey of a photographer, has written the screenplay which attempts to describe the individual struggle and adventure of survival through visual language.
The first half of the film leaves the audience tired as the film moves slowly right from the start, stumbles into the story and is loaded with manipulated scenes to pass the time. The story starts in the second half and the film draws attention with the interesting nature of the screenplay, the mother-son sentiment and the psychological impact caused by it.
However, it takes a lot of patience to see the hero’s wild journey and the mysterie s he faces.Overall, the ‘photographer’ is out of focus.
