Story-:
*Paradise* is directed by Srikanth Odela. The story revolves around the ‘Savari’ tribe—branded a criminal clan even after India’s independence—who are held in subjugation by the local landlord and antagonist, Malik. Malik exploits them for his illegal illicit liquor trade and denies them the legal identity they deserve, all to maintain his reign of power. *Paradise* narrates how the Savari people dare to reclaim their identity and ultimately succeed in doing so.
Actor Nani plays the protagonist, a character named Sadayan. He is the son of Sammakka, a woman who fought for their community’s identity; actress Keerthy Suresh (Kayadu Lohar) stars alongside him. Anirudh composed the music for the film, while Naveen Nooli handled the editing, Murali Kondeti the art direction, and Sathyan Sooryan the cinematography. Nani, belonging to the enslaved Savari tribe in Malik’s territory, is humiliated as a child by the villain Mohan Babu; he is branded with an obscene tattoo regarding his mother on his hand and driven away. Later, Nani kills one of the villain’s associates and is sentenced to 14 years in prison. Upon his release, Sadayan (Nani) is consumed by a desire for revenge against Malik. The rest of the film’s screenplay details the actions Nani takes to eliminate Malik, who has been preventing the Savari tribe from securing their identity.

Movie Review-:
Nani has poured immense effort into the action sequences, going well beyond mere acting. He delivers an intense performance as a furious hero attacking the villain’s gang. His portrayal of anger towards his mother, followed by his emotional softening once the truth is revealed, is excellent.
While his performance in the action scenes is impressive, the relentless hacking down of every villain who appears eventually raises questions about the narrative’s direction. To add some aesthetic appeal amidst the bloodshed, the director brought in Kayadu Lohar, yet it is unclear why no effort was put into properly fleshing out her character.
The premise—where she acts in adult films to pay off her father’s debt while her own mother films and makes snide comments—is simply too far-fetched. Furthermore, the logic of hanging oneself after having already cleared the debt is baffling; she seems to have been utilized solely for glamour.
Mohan Babu (as the father, Malik), who plays the villain, retires before he can truly instill any sense of dread, and his son Raghav Juyal (Vikram Malik) steps in to take his place. Although the son attempts to project villainy through menacing glares and threats, it fails to make an impact. The cast also includes Sonali Kulkarni, Easwari Rao, Tanikella Bharani, and Sathyaraj. Although the character of Sammakka begins with a strong, rebellious spirit, her shift into a pitiable figure following the protagonist’s entry highlights flaws in the screenplay.
Although the film tells a powerful story about people struggling against anonymity and a lack of basic amenities—despite having merged with India after independence—the filmmakers have squandered the opportunity through excessive hype, cringe-inducing violence, and disjointed sequences. Furthermore, references to Telangana political leaders in the second half and scenes marred by censor cuts failed to sustain interest in the movie.
While the background score initially helped immerse the audience in the story’s world, it eventually became mere noise due to the relentless barrage of fight scenes. The screenplay, unfolding across six chapters, bears unmistakable traces of *KGF*—complete with mother sentiment and a “tea-bun” backstory. Just as Nani ruthlessly hunts down villains, the editor could have shown a bit more mercy to the scenes themselves.
Had the film truly lived up to its title, *Paradise*, it would have captivated the audience.
