Actor-turned-racer Ajith Kumar takes delivery of Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition
International racing driver and actor Ajith Kumar is now the proud owner of the Mahindra BE 6 Formula E edition, having taken delivery of the special edition Electric Origin eSUV inspired by the brand’s Formula E challenger.
Ajith sampled the Gen 2 spec of the all-electric, single-seater race car in a high-profile test at the Andalucia circuit in Spain in October last year. His firsthand experience alongside Season 7 World Champion Nyck de Vries, underscores the technical bridge between his professional track work and his choice of the BE 6 Formula E Edition. His subsequent choice of the BE 6 Formula E brings two Indian racing icons together and continues his association with Mahindra’s electric motorsport division.
Ajith is a veritable cinema legend but his racing career, spanning two decades, is equally storied. He has raced in series like Formula BMW Asia, British Formula 3, and the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Most recently, he successfully returned to the international circuit with his own team, Ajith Kumar Racing, securing podium finishes – P3 in the 991 category at the 2025 Dubai 24H endurance race, P3 in Mugello & P2 in Spa- franchorchamps at the Crevantic 24 Hours European championship 2026.
The BE 6 Formula E Edition, the world’s first Formula E themed special edition SUV, pays tribute to Mahindra’s twelve seasons in the FIA Formula E World Championship. With a 282 bhp rear-drive electric motor and 380 Nm of torque, it accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The SUV features track-inspired “Firestorm Orange” accents, premium suede and leatherette interiors, a 79 kWh battery, and ultra-fast 180 kW charging capability, combining high-performance engineering with practical electric mobility for those accustomed to precision vehicles.
