Movie Review -:
Rajeshwar’s son Vikram Rajeshwar, who directed the hugely successful ‘Amaran’ starring Karthik in the 90s, and his cous in Arun Keshav have jointly directed thi s film as a duo. Having experience in dire cting an ad film, they are making their d ebut as directors with this film, but they have only given the fans the satisfaction of watching an ad film. They could have t aken the concept of a bank robbery and given a comedy film with a lot of comedi ans. Due to the weak screenplay, the fan s did not laugh in many scenes.
Vaibhav, who plays the hero, has shown the same performance as usual with an innocent f ace. It is good for him to keep in mind th at he can continue his journey as a hero in the film industry only if he gi ves his ch aracter a little more emphasis. Athulya Ravi, who plays the heroine, co mes and goes like a regular heroine.
Although sh e looks beautiful on screen, the scope f or her in the film is lacking. Li vingston, w ho plays the father, and Hus saini, who p lays his friend, were realisti c in their per formances. Anandaraj, Joh n Vijay, Mott ai Rajendran, and Sunil Re ddy, who play the robbers, have irritate d the audience instead of giving them co medy. Reddin joins them to make them i rritated with his usual facial expression ns. Manikanda Rajesh has shown a comp etent perform ance. The work done by B ipin, who plays the police inspector, and Sams, who play s the constable, is all chil dish.
The songs in the music of Imman are me diocre, and a little more effort could hav e been put into the background music. T he cinematography of the film is classic. There have been many films based on th e one-line story of bank robbery. In the m, the only disappointment is how this film will be different. The film is stagnan t throughout due to the weak screenpla y and lack of dialogues that are necessar y for comedy. With such a large star cas t, it could have been a great comedy film m. But due to the lack of a suitable scree nplay and dialogues, the film has becom e boring instead of comedy. This two-ho ur film leaves the audience wondering w hen it will end. In such stories, the same template of who will get the looted mon ey in the end also comes into play, which is a big disappointment. Chennai City Ga ngsters – Rowdy Without Smile.
