*Heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Chie f Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stal in, for accepting the request of The Sout h Indian Film Chamber of Commerce and reducing entertainment tax*
The South Indian Film Chamber of Com merce expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Chief Minister of Ta mil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin, for accept ing the request of The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce and reducing the Local Body Entertainment Tax on films from eight percent to four percent.
Reduction of the Local Body Entertainment Tax has long been a consistent plea from the Tamil film industry. The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce took the initiative to bring this matter to the attention of the Tamil Nadu Government.
Kindly considering this, the Hon’ble Chief Minister has now reduced the tax from 8% to 4%. For this, the The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce sincerely thanks the Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin, and the Hon’ble Minister for Information and Publicity Thiru M.P. Saminathan.
This decision by the Tamil Nadu Government stands as a great boon to the Tamil film industry. There is no doubt that this move will further the growth and strengthen the position of Tamil cinema. Therefore, once again, on behalf of the entire Tamil film industry, we extend our sincere thanks to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
