Ilango Ram, the director of the blockbuster film Nelum Kuluna (Tentigo) / Perusu was appointed as a Jury of the ‘A’ list film festival in Estonia

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia classified as an ‘A’ list film festival accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Association (FIAPF) completed its 29th edition in Tallinn, Estonia.

Sri Lankan film director Ilango Ram, who’s known for his blockbuster film, Nelum Kuluna (Tentigo)/ Perusu was appointed to serve on the official First Feature Competition Jury at this year’s Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. This is especially significant as Ilango Ram’s film Nelum Kuluna (Tentigo) competed in Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in the year 2023 and was awarded the Special Jury Prize.

Being invited in 2025 to return as a jury member in that very same competitive section stands out as a remarkable honour.

This year’s Tallinn Black Nights film Festival jury panel delivered verdicts across 9 main award categories.

Ilango Ram also becomes the first Sri Lankan to serve on the jury at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival after it was recognized as an A-list film festival by FIAPF, marking a noteworthy moment in the festival’s history.
