Story-:
O Butterfly is a film written and directed by Vijay Ranganathan and starring Nivedita Sathish, Sibi Chandran, Atul, Nasser, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, Geetha Kailasam. The film is produced by Venky, Anand S Shah, Vijay Ranganathan, Nisha Patiala and others under the banner Anthill Cinema & Palampur Talkies.
Vaishak Somanath has composed the music for the film. Vedaraman Sankaran has handled the cinematography.
Bhuvanesh Manivannan has edited the film.
Atul’s death is shown at the beginning of the film, and what happened in the last 24 hours of his life is shown in a flashback.
Atul and Nivedita Sathish are living as husband and wife. They come to a guest house in Kodaikanal to be alone. Nasser is the servant of the house. Nasser, who is very fond of butterflies, lives his life by raising them and talking to them.
Nivedita wants to tell Atul about the love she had for someone while in college. Starting a business requires an investment of crores and she is thinking about what to do with it. Moreover, Atul is frustrated that she has not been able to achieve anything in life.
Atul brings Sibi Chandran home, claiming to be his college friend. Nivedita is shocked when she sees Sibi Chandran in person. This Sibi Chandran is the man Nivedita loved while studying in college. Nivedita had wanted to tell Atul about him.
Atul is thinking of somehow talking to Sibi Chandran and getting him to invest in the company he is about to start.Atul comes to know at one point that Sibi Chandran is Nivedita’s ex-boyfriend and what happens after that is the rest of the story of the film.

Movie Review-:
The director can be highly praised for choosing the right actors for this role in the film. Atul, Nivedita Sathish, Sibi Chandran, Nassar are the four characters that hold the film together.
Director Vijay Ranganathan has made this film with immense faith in his writing and his screenplay. How the director managed to bring this story to the written form is a question that raises great doubts. In those two hours of watching the film, no one appeared as a star. Everyone had lived and passed away as characters.
Although the question arose at the beginning as to where this film was moving, director Vijay Ranganathan made us enjoy the film to the edge of our seats as the story moved forward and its interestingness touched us.
One important role in the film is, it can be said, the music. The music composer has given each and every song a delightful and enjoyable experience. Not to mention the background music… The composer has given his extreme in every scene and made it enjoyable.
The cinematography has played a huge role in this film. The way the butterfly is displayed is wonderful. Apart from that, the way the golf ball is filmed, the way the guest house is filmed, the way the scene is displayed from multiple angles even though it is filmed inside the same house, the way cinematographer Vedaraman Sankaran’s work is very impressive in the film.
It is easy to criticize this film, but only if you experience it in theaters can you truly feel it. You can definitely visit this film once. If you come out of the film and find some small change or clarity in your mind and knowledge, that will be the biggest success of the film.
It is a great surprise that the director of this film has given us a work that a mature director would give, by constantly telling us what kind of character Atul’s character is in every scene, and by telling us what kind of character Sibi Chandran is through his actions.
