Movie Review -:

School is a supernatural mystery thriller written, directed, and produced by R.K. Vidhyaadharan. The film features an ens emble cast including Yogi Babu, Bhoomi ka Chawla, K.S. Ravikumar, Nizhalgal Ra vi, Chaams, Bucks, and Priyanka Venkat esh. With music composed by Isaignani I laiyaraaja, the film attempts to blend th e eerie with the emotional.

Set in the backdrop of Pattabiram, a stri ng of mysterious student deaths within a school triggers a police investigation le d by KS Ravikumar’s character. As suspi cions grow, a paranormal investigator is brought in to uncover the truth — leadin g to a twist that sets the stage for a good vs. evil showdown.

Despite a cast loaded with potential, the film falters in character design. Yogi Bab u’s role is confusingly pitched — neither  fully comic nor convincingly emotional. Bhoomika Chawla’s presence too feels u nderutilized. Veterans like KS Ravikuma ar and Nizhalgal Ravi deliver measured performances, but are ultimately let do wn by shallow character arcs.

Technically, School struggles to find its f ooting. The cinematography fails to esta blish the mysterious tone the genre dem ands. Editing feels disjointed, affecting t he film’s overall coherence. Ilaiyaraaja’s background score is serviceable but doe sn’t elevate the film, hindered further by songs that feel disconnected from the n arrative.

While the dialogues are a rare strong po oint, the screenplay lacks clarity and em otional depth. The narrative becomes co nvoluted with too many subplots and un derdeveloped ideas, making it hard for t he audience to invest. The core concept feels stretched, and the complexity over whelms rather than intrigues.

School is a film with an ambitious conce pt, but it tries to juggle too many elemen ts — supernatural themes, social comme ntary, and layered characters — all withi n a 147-minute runtime. As a result, the film feels rushed and underwhelming. W ith a tighter script and stronger technica al execution, this premise may have bee n better suited for a web series format r ather than a feature film.
