Movie Review -:
After the film Drishyam, Mohanlal has r eturned in this film just as the fans expe cted. Mohanlal, who is an innocent who lives for his family and goes to any exten t for the welfare of his family, has reveal ed through his acting dimension how he turns into Rudramurthy throughout the film. His anguish in the scenes where he is trapped by both the Inspector and the SI and drives the car is so realistic. The s cene where he cries and cries while gett tting wet after opening the shower in th e bathroom is heartbreaking.
Meanwhile, the action performance he performs in the last half hour makes the theater whistle. Shobana has paired up with Mohanlal after a long time. Despite her age, there is no change in her acting.. Especially when she looks at the inspect or who is torturing her, when her husba nd calls and threatens her, and when she retreats due to helplessness, just look at her.. The same look of Ganga that she pl ayed in the film Manichitrathaz can be s een again in this. That one scene is enou gh for her acting..
Prakash Varma, who plays the inspector, and Binu Pappu, who plays the SI, rule th e entire film beyond these two. Althoug h Binu Pappu has acted in many films in Malayalam cinema for many years, the f ull-length character of SI Penny given to him in this film can be said to be a milest one in his film career. He keeps increas ing the level of his cruelty scene by sce ne, wondering how a policeman can be so cruel. Especially the arguments betw een Mohanlal and him are heated.
At the same time, Prakash Varma, who is making his debut as an actor, is surpri sing us. It is hard to believe that this is hi s first film. Prakash Varma has perfectly portrayed the character of a hypocrite who is a good person, with his cruelty as a high-ranking official, betrayal of trust, and trickery of making others support h is mistakes while smiling. It is certain th at he will become an indispensable acto r in the Malayalam film industry.
Some scenes where director Bharathira ja and actor Ilavaras come and go are ve ry surprising for those who watch the fil m. The director has beautifully depicted the master-disciple relationship betwee n Bharathiraja and Mohanlal. Another s urprise is the presence of Vijay Sethupa thi in the film. Let it be a suspense for th ose who watch the film. Those who play Mohanlal’s son and daughter, and Mani yam Pillai Raju, who play his friends, all stand by the side of the story.
Be it the tic-tac-toe scenes leading up to the interval or the half-hour action-pac ked climax, music director Jakes Bejoy h as proven himself once again by doing hi s job 100 percent right. Cinematographe r Shaji Kumar creates a feeling that we a re also trapped in Mohanlal’s taxi journ ey through the dense forest with his cin ematography. The way he shot the fight scene inside the police station in the cli max is even better.
In recent times, many directors have dis tanced themselves from Mohanlal by thi nking that they are showing him differe ently. But with this film, director Tarunm urthy has brought back the usual Mohan lal that fans adore. The story and climax of the film are what we have seen in ma ny films. But we cannot help but admire t he way he tells his story and emotional ly moves towards that climax.
The director is particularly clever in com bining the turning point of the film with the opening scene, the landslide scene. The director has conveyed to us the sho ck that Mohanlal experiences when the truth about his son is revealed. Not only that, but he has also treated status murd er as the central theme of this film, like manslaughter. The suspense in the husb and-wife relationship between Mohanla l and Shobana also supports the film’s t wist. Although there are some logical fl aws, they are all pushed aside in the cou rse of the story. In this way, director Tar unmoorthy has created a feast for Moha nlal fans after a long time. To be cotinue d – Mohanlal Thodarum
