Focusing on the natural resources, wildlife and biodiversity of Tamil Nadu, ‘Wild Tamil Nadu’ is not just a regular wildlife documentary, but a complete work of art.
The story of this documentary is based on the five genres of Sangha literature, namely Kurinji, Mullai, Marutham, Neythal and Palai, which are closely related to Tamil life. The creatures living in each landscape, their natural environment and life struggles are presented in an interesting screenplay-like format.
Traveling from the dense forests of the Western Ghats to the underwater world of Tamil Nadu, this documentary captures rare scenes of nature on screen that many have never seen before. The daily life of wild animals, hunting, breeding, foraging and their interaction with nature is beautifully depicted through quality cinematography.
It is noteworthy that this documentary, which runs for about an hour, is designed in such a way that the audience does not get bored. Especially the cinematography, natural sounds, animal movements and background music set according to the scenes provide an experience that takes the audience directly into the wild environment.

One of the biggest highlights of this documentary is actor Arvind Samy’s charming English background voice. His clear and sublime Narration, combined with the feel of the visuals, adds extra strength to the film.
Another major strength of ‘Wild Tamilnadu’ is the background score by Grammy award winning composer Ricky Cage. His music is tailored to each moment: the silence of nature, the tension of animals, the mystery of forests and the movements of life. Many places where visuals and music come together offer a new experience to the visitors.
Ahead of the movie ‘Wild Tamil Nadu’ which hit the theaters on September 7, 2026, a special press screening was organized in Chennai. The film crew, who met the press at that time, said that they had worked in the field for about five years to make this one-hour documentary. They also shared that the shoot was conducted in the forests for more than 300 days.
‘Wild Tamil Nadu’ is an attempt to not only document the natural resources and wildlife of a state, but also to make visitors understand the ecology and ecological balance behind them.
Introducing the nature of Tamil Nadu in a new angle never seen on screen before, this film is meant to be enjoyed by people from all walks of life, from children to adults. It also makes for a great cinema experience that creates awareness about nature, wildlife and environmental protection, especially for children.
