Young Indians (Yi) in Partnership with CREDAI Chennai Hosts ‘Walk Along 3.0’

Chennai, 10th August 2025: Young Indians (Yi) Chennai Chapter, an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is proudly celebrating Yi Chennai Day with month-long activities that blend culture, pride, and social responsibility. Among its flagship events is the third edition of “Yi Walk Along”, organized in partnership with CREDAI Chennai, to be held on Sunday, 10th August 2025, at Besant Nagar Beach from 7:00 AM onwards.

“ Yi Walk Along” is one of India’s largest and most inclusive walkathons, dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities and neurodivergent individuals. In this unique event, more than 500 persons with disabilities will walk hand-in-hand with allies in a 1:1 symbolic walk with neurotypical participants — showing that as a society, we are all in this together.

The event will also feature inclusive experience zones and interactive stalls, ranging from assistive technologies and inclusive sports to art, music, and therapy-based interventions. More than 1200 participants, representing 15+ special institutions, 12+ premier colleges, corporates, and civic bodies, will join the initiative, supported by over 200 Yi YUVA college volunteers.

CREDAI Chennai President, Mr. A. Mohamed Ali said:  “At CREDAI Chennai, we believe real progress is not just about infrastructure, but about making our city inclusive and accessible for everyone. ‘Yi Walk Along’ reminds us that when we walk together, barriers disappear and communities become stronger. We are proud to partner in this movement towards a more compassionate and inclusive Chennai.”
