Story -:

The film features two versions of the lead character, ‘Rajini’: Santhosh plays the male version, and Reshma Venkatesh plays the female version. Reshma Venkatesh delivers a performance that meets the story’s demands—conducting genetics research to find a scientific solution to her condition, struggling to reveal the truth to her lover, and showing genuine concern for her male counterpart. Santhosh also delivers an excellent performance, particularly in the action sequences, romantic scenes, and moments where he connects with his other self.

Samyuktha Viswanathan (as Priya, the male Rajini’s girlfriend) and Vinoth Kishan (as Karthik, the female Rajini’s boyfriend) both deliver solid performances. Additionally, VTV Ganesh and Bagavathi Perumal (Bugs) play their respective roles effectively. Director Ashwin Kandasamy has crafted a screenplay that structures a somewhat complex plot using engaging sequences; he directs the film around an interesting premise—the female Rajini conducting genetics research while the male Rajini works at a night-time bar. Santhakumar Chakravarthy provides colorful cinematography that suits the fantasy genre. Editor Praveen Antony does an efficient job, particularly with the action sequences and the scenes depicting the character’s transformation between male and female forms.

However, the songs and background score by Sam C.S. fail to make a significant impact. While the director adopts an intriguing premise—the character is female from 6 AM to 6 PM and male from 6 PM to 6 AM—the screenplay eventually becomes tedious due to the constant switching between genders, driven by a mix of divine intervention, genetics research, and situational changes that defy logic. One has to really stretch the bounds of logic to accept scenarios like the boyfriend discovering a cure within a few days, or the fact that the truth about their transformation is revealed in many places yet goes unnoticed by so many.
