Story -:
Director Sasi has garnered attention in Tamil cinema for his unique storylines and films that delve deeply into human emotions. Known for distinct narratives in movies like *Poo*, *Pichaikkaran*, and *Sivappu Manjal Pachai*, he returns after a long hiatus with *Nooru Kodi Vaanavil*—a story that blends romance, humor, and familial emotions.
Harish Kalyan, who works for a private television network in Mumbai, travels to Goa in pursuit of a promotion. He begins his assignment there, hopeful that successfully producing a television show will pave the way for his career advancement. In this setting, he meets Benny—a character played by Siddhi Idnani, who places great value on human emotions.
Richie, Siddhi Idnani’s boyfriend, has been in a coma for about 170 days following an accident. Throughout this period, Siddhi has been recording her daily life on video, hoping to share these moments with him once he recovers.
A minor conflict between Harish Kalyan and Siddhi Idnani eventually blossoms into a friendship. Harish decides to center his television show around Siddhi’s experiences and her enduring love, leading to a closer bond between them—a connection that gradually evolves into romance.
Although Harish confesses his love, Siddhi finds herself unable to accept it immediately. While she feels drawn to Harish—who understands her so well—she remains torn, unable to let go of the love she holds for Richie, to whom she has remained devoted all this time. In the midst of this, Richie recovers from his coma and returns. The rest of the story follows the paths that the lives of the individuals in this love triangle take.

Web Movie Review -:
Harish Kalyan handles his character—which encompasses the impulsiveness and stubbornness typical of youth, as well as the uncertainties that arise in love—with great skill. He particularly stands out in scenes where he conveys his resentment toward his father and his longing for his mother, delivering a mature performance.
Siddhi Idnani, playing a character who experiences love at a tender, naive age, delivers an impressive performance. She effectively communicates her faith in that love and the internal emotional struggle to preserve it, primarily through her expressive eyes.
Conversely, Rinil—who plays the role of Siddhi Idnani’s lover—delivers an artificial performance that diminishes the significance of his character; furthermore, the trajectory and eventual conclusion of his character’s arc are all too easy to predict.
VJ Parvathy’s rapid-fire dialogue and lively, energetic demeanor contribute well to the comedic sequences, successfully eliciting laughter from the audience. Other cast members, including Kovai Sarala, Thambi Ramaiah, and Chinni Jayanth, have also performed their respective roles competently.
Cinematographer Prasanna K. Kumar beautifully captures the unique essence of Goa—a place where tradition and modernity coexist—and skillfully conveys the lovers’ emotions to the audience.
Sidhu Kumar’s music—a blend of evocative melodies and lyrics—adds strength to the screenplay by giving a beautiful musical form to the romance. Through his background score, he effectively brings the characters’ romantic feelings, unspoken longings, and hidden joys to life on screen.
Although the story centers on romantic emotions and the internal struggles of the lovers, editor M. Subarak has ensured that the screenplay moves forward seamlessly, without any lulls or pacing issues. Director Sasi, who consistently explores the complexities and inner struggles of love—ranging from unspoken affection to the mature, profound love that can emerge in a second marriage—delves here into the romantic confusion and the resulting emotional turmoil experienced by a woman.
Through his writing, Sasi poignantly captures the plight of a woman who sacrifices her own desires and dreams for the future, all in an effort to remain true to her love and her partner. However, the reasons provided for her sudden change of heart—and the way this shift is depicted—do not carry a significant impact within the screenplay. Nevertheless, the handling of the female protagonist, and the way it reflects the inner world and silences of women, is commendable.
Using visual storytelling and the expressive language of the eyes, Sasi effectively challenges the myths that love happens only once and that there is room for only one person in one’s heart. Furthermore, through the character of a trans man, he touches upon the idea that love is fundamentally a matter of the heart—a point he conveys in a subtle yet praiseworthy manner.Overall, ‘Nooru Kodi Vaanavil’ is an enjoyable watch.
