Story -:
Nadigaru Thilakam Sivaji Ganesan’s grandson Darshan Ganesan is making his debut in this movie. Music composer, lyricist and director Gangai Amaran is making his acting debut with him. Sriritha Rao and Roja are the heroines along with actors Jaj Marion, Aadukalam Narine, Yukendran, Bhosvenkat, Archana Ravichandran and many others. The film is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. This film is directed by debutant director DD Balachandran. Musician Ilayaraja has composed the music. Cinematography by Edwin Sage, Art Direction by Athuri Jayakumar and Editing by Nagooran Ramachandran. Ilayaraja and Karthik Netha have penned the songs.
Darshan, the protagonist, who has been teased for his looks since childhood, longs for his identity. He gets the job of guarding his father who died during the mission. On the other hand, Duraisamy (Gangai Amaran)’s beloved lamb Meenakshi dies after being hit by a lorry belonging to sand smuggling gangs. Duraiswamy informs the local village administration officer (Archana) to punish this illegal gang. Ganga Amaran, shocked by the fact that Archana was also killed by the villains, climbs the steps of the court to seek justice for the woman who died due to him. The case goes to the hands of George Bhimrao, an honest judge. Protagonist Darshan is hired as a guard for the elderly Ganga Amaran when his life is threatened.
Did the ordinary old man win the legal battle against the biggest sand smuggling gang? No? That is the story of the movie Lenin Pandian.

Movie Review -:
Even though it is the first movie, hero Darshan has absorbed the character. He has given a befitting performance to the character who approaches anything with self-doubt. From standing up to his enemies to reclaim his identity, to being a prisoner of circumstances and feeling guilty, he enlivens the scenes. The heroine Sreedha has done a good job of talking and fighting for her lover and then coming down and making peace. His performance in the hospital scenes adds strength to the scene. Ganga Amaran can be mentioned as the hero of the film. Gangai Amaran carries the entire film just as Bharathiraja fits the role of an old man. From talking to Roja with love to being innocently deceived, he keeps an eye on the old man next door. Scene after scene of her crying for the lamb Meenakshi and asking for a mushroom to eat, her performance captivates the audience. Roja, who plays his wife, recalls the first respect. Places that come across as a brave, strong woman are grounded in reality.
A major strength of the film can be said to be the choice of characters. Bose Venkat who plays the policeman and George Marion who plays the role of the judge. Especially in the court scenes, their performance is brilliant. George Mariam’s performance conveys the freedom and opportunity that the law gives one and inspires hope. Although there are few scenes, Archana has given a compelling performance and justice to it. Many people have acted with them like Adukalam Naren. Yukendra who comes as the villain also did not disappoint the audience.
The film’s major strength is the realistic visual settings in the first half. The court scenes in particular convey the belief that the law does not provide opportunities for ordinary people in modern times. The screenplay emphatically portrays how an honest judge can give a change if he thinks. “Don’t say officer, say officer, don’t be judged by appearance” and get applause because they are attached to the scene.
Musician Ilayaraja’s Bandi Muni song keeps ringing in the ears. The lively ensemble in the first half and his background music did not leave the second half. The film is lifted by his calm delivery of the background music without forcing the background music in the hectic scenes and his eye-watering music in the climax scenes. The script is written with emphasis on the characters, and the technical work is done well, which lifts the film. The story moves briskly in the first half, but in the second half it takes a bit of a turn in the middle of the love scenes. It might explain how an old man struggling to resist a local villain climbed the steps of the High Court. While the first half of the story travels with reality, the second half gets a bit cinematic. Prolonged climax scenes may be omitted. Here and there Danakaran peeps.
Director Balachandran has drawn attention in the first film by telling how much power and politics make ordinary people suffer. It is special that this justice system and government systems are alienated from the common people through the way of verses.
At the same time, the director has also distilled the feelings that permeate human minds into scenes. Edwin’s camera gives life to the scenes of Sivaganga area village. The art direction and cinematography are excellent.
Lenin is the Pandian between the young man in search of identity and the old man in search of justice
